gaol guardians

Our exhibition runs smoothly each year thanks to the generous support of community volunteers, working alongside the Sculpture in the Gaol committee and staff from National Parks and Wildlife Service. Above all, volunteers fulfill a valuable ‘meet and greet’ role for visitors to the Gaol, and where possible answering questions about the various artworks.

Gaol Guardians, as we call them, sign up to the National Parks and Wildlife Service volunteer programme and as such, are insured during their work. Hours are flexible and there’s great camaraderie among the volunteers.
